Pawhuska Splits With Frontier on Tuesday

The Pawhuska Huskies and Lady Huskies completed their fifth game in six days on Tuesday night in a home contest against Frontier. The boys lost a hard-fought 66-60 overtime ballgame and after a sluggish start, the Lady Huskies cruised to a 61-44 win.
The boys trailed for a majority of the game on Tuesday evening. In the late stages of the fourth quarter, the Mustangs held a 54-53 edge when Blaine Manning hit this massive three pointer.
After forcing a turnover on the opposite end, Pawhuska's Darain West was fouled with seven seconds left. He made one of two, sending the game to overtime. That is where foul trouble played a big role. Pawhuska's Jenson Snodgrass, Antwine Hamilton and Jaden Spicer all fouled out.
Frontier started out hot from the field, leading 18-9 at the end of the first quarter. The Mustangs took a 29-21 lead into halftime before the Huskies trimmed the deficit to four by halftime. Manning had 16 points, while West added 15 points.
The Lady Huskies fended off a slow start en route to a 17-point win. Pawhuska held a 21-19 lead at halftime, but the third quarter was the difference, as the Lady Huskies outscored the Lady Mustangs, 16-2. Part of that third quarter onslaught included this three point basket from Emilee Curry.
For Pawhuska, Curry finished with 20 points and Brooklyn Miles added 17.
Pawhuska has a week off before playing at Dewey next Tuesday.
