Former Bartlesville High School star A.J. Parker reported for his first NFL training camp with the Detroit Lions this week. Parker a former star at Kansas State University was picked up by Detroit a free agent just after the 2021 NFL Draft.

Tim Twentyman, a writer for DetroitLions.com opined that last year’s first-round Jeff Okudah will take one starting cornerback spot, but the second starting spot will likely be up for grabs. Twentyman mentioned Parker’s name as one to watch as the lions look to shift toward younger talent in the midst of a rebuild.

Detroit opens the preseason August 13 against Buffalo. Parker’s first battle will be making an impression in camp and throughout the preseason. As undrafted free agent, Parker’s spot on the 53-man regular season roster is anything but a guarantee.
