The Nowata County Commissioners met on Monday morning at the Nowata County Courthouse Annex.

The commissioners discussed the latest courthouse improvements involving electrical maintenance.

The commissioners also approved the renewal of the courtside benefits insurance plan, approved a license agreement with the Public Service Company of Oklahoma and approved a right of way acquisition for a tributary to a low water crossing at Lightning Creek.

Tensions rose in Monday's meeting when Mike Bell of Bellco Trucking asked the board why his bid wasn't awarded for loading and hauling miscellaneous materials. Chairman Paul Crupper explained why.

Nowata County Emergency Manager Laurie Summers also announced that there will be more damage assessment from the recent floods. County roads 25, 26 and 27 are open.

The Nowata County Commissioners meet every Monday morning at 9 a.m.
