Bartlesville Police, Fire, & EMS responded to a five-vehicle collision in the 1700 block of Washington Boulevard/US Highway 75 at approximately 7:13 a.m. on Friday, June 13.

According to Bartlesville Police, the preliminary investigations shows that traffic had slowed due to vehicles stopping ahead. A pickup truck towing a trailer carrying two horses failed to stop in time that triggered a chain-reaction crash involving five vehicles.

Three individuals were taken to Ascension St. John Jane Phillips Hospital with minor to moderate, non-life-threatening injuries.

The horses being transported in the trailer did not appear to be injured.

As a result of the incident, all southbound lanes were temporarily closed while crews worked to clear the scene and ensure public safety. The roadway has since been reopened.

The Bartlesville Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
