The Washington County Commissioners had a longer than usual meeting Monday morning for the end of the fiscal year.

The commissioners approved several resolutions and policies for the treasurer's office to close out the current fiscal year and move to the next, which begins July 1.

The commissioners also approved renewing an agreement with the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma Self-Insured Group for property and liability insurance. It will cost taxpayers nearly $455,000 for the new fiscal year.

Commissioner Mike Dunlap says the premium has increased again for this fiscal year, but it is because of higher insurance losses in other counties who participate in the program.

The Washington County Commissioners meet every Monday morning. The next meeting will begin at 9 a.m. since it will be the first meeting of the month.
