A Bartlesville 4th of July tradition is set to kick off on Thursday morning, as the 66th annual Glen Winget Tournament will start in downtown Bartlesville. The Doenges Toyota Indians will try to get their first Winget championship since 2018.

Games begin at 11:00 AM at Rigdon Field.

Even when not running the Indians, current manager John Pannell says between being a player, coach, event organizer or a bat boy when he was a child, he may have been involved in more than half of the 66 tournaments.

Pannell talks about the stable of teams coming to play baseball in Bartlesville this weekend.

The Winget is not affected by the OSSAA Dead Period rule because it serves as a national qualifier for the Stan Musial World Series.

Pannell talks about what this baseball tournament has meant to Bartlesville and the surrounding area during America’s Independence Day.

The Indians will start play in the Winget Thursday night at 8:00. Bartlesville is slated to take on a talented but younger Branson, Missouri team.

The Tribe will play in the 5th game of the day.
