After multiple rounds of thunderstorms over the past several weeks, Washington County crews are still working to clear downed trees from the roadside, fixing washouts and repairing drainage horns that were innundated with water.
Commissioner Mike Dunlap says roadway mowing has been delayed because of the wet conditions and tree debris. He is asking for the public's patience and promised crews will mow as soon as manpower and conditions allow.
Dunlap says another issue arose during the storms at the county's three district shops — power outages.

Dunlap says he will likely shop around for generators, and if the price is below the bid requirements, he will approach the commission to seek approval for purchase.
