Bartlesville High football had its 2025 season came to an end on Friday night in Piedmont.

The Wildcats beat the Bruins 53-28 behind a stellar rushing attack. Piedmont ran the ball for nearly 600 yards in the victory.

BHS had its moments in the first half but could never get consistent stops. Piedmont scored rushing touchdowns on seven of its first eight offensive possessions.

Bartlesville briefly competed in the second quarter. Following a Piedmont fumble at its own 30-yard line, Sutton Williams caught his second receiving score in as many games to cut the Wildcat lead down to five.

However, it was all Piedmont from that point forward. The Wildcats led by 18 at half and scored 27 unanswered to put the game away.

Mishaps cost the Bruins early. BHS couldn’t field a deep pop-kick from Piedmont, which led to an extra Wildcat possession. Despite trailing 12-0 in the first few minutes, Bartlesville battled back within five for the first time on this Shaun Thrasher touchdown.

Williams scored three touchdowns on the night. He tacked on another two scores in the second half.

The win moves Piedmont to face Sand Springs in the second round of the 6A-II playoffs.

BHS finishes its season at 3-8 for the second straight year.
