Caney Valley (OK) Football Cancelled Friday
The Caney Valley Trojans will not be playing on Friday night, after the Caney Valley School District announced their game against Hulbert was called off due to an inadequate number of players available to play.
The Trojans did play a zero week game on the road against Barnsdall last Friday and fell, 36-8. The Trojans were hit with the injury bug in the first half, losing three experienced players in that time. Head coach Derrick Hammer said some younger players got to step up and take the field.
Caney Valley has a bye week scheduled for next week. The Trojans will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 18, for a road game against Cleveland's junior varsity squad. Last season, Caney Valley shut out Cleveland's junior varsity team, 34-0.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Cleveland.
