Copan Football Wrap Up

We continue to put a bow on high school football’s 2025 season. Again, one of the most successful campaigns belonged to Copan. The Hornets finished the year at 8-3 with a first round home playoff loss to Coyle this past Friday.

Coyle beat Copan 42-18 to move on to the second-round on Friday night.

Hornet head coach Trenton Kallenberger says his team’s defense struggled early in the loss.

The loss ends the career of five Copan seniors who helped orchestrate one of the bigger turnarounds in the area in the past decade. Copan went from not having a team to back-to-back home playoff games.

Kallenberger talks about the impact of this outgoing senior class.

Despite losing those seniors, Kallenberger says he expects about 20 guys to be out for the team next year, and the Hornets will return half of their starters for 2026.
