Culture Building into Summer For Bruin Football

Bartlesville High football has wrapped up spring ball, its spring game, team camp and two 7-on-7 competitions – As the Bruins are nearly two weeks into summer workouts under first year head coach Matt Hennesy.

Bartlesville had nearly 90 guys out for their spring game in late-May. The game showed multiple returners, new players and move-ins excel in a game-like format.

Hennesy says after going through it, the Bruin’s depth wasn’t quite strong enough to showcase everyone in their best light.

Despite some guys having to play out of position, there were plenty of positives in both the game and spring ball in general. Hennesy says the main highlights were the continued showcasing of the culture that he and the new coaching staff have worked to instill since January.

Hennesy talks about positives from the spring.

The Bruins are into day No. 11 of summer pride workouts. He says attendance has been stellar. Hennesy will have a rule that players need to make 90-percent of the days to play with the varsity guys this fall.

Bartlesville will have a 7-on-7 tournament this Friday in Bixby.

More on those contests then.
