The Dewey Bulldogger football guys started the season 1-0 on Friday night, after taking out Locust Grove at Bulldogger Stadium, 53-34.

Early in the ballgame, Dewey struggled offensively. The Doggers turned the ball over on their first two possessions. The defense held their own, holding the Pirates to just six points in the first half.

The offense finally clicked in the later stages of the first half. This 69-yard touchdown run from Jayden Vallen got Dewey on the board.

On defense, the Bulldoggers forced multiple turnovers, including an interception by Kaden Lackey.
Braxton Braden took over in the early stages of the game at quarterback and shined for Dewey. Braden finished the night with 151 yards and four touchdowns.

Braden dropped a touchdown pass to Cadyn Artherton to stretch the lead to 19.

The win for Dewey is the first under new head coach Scott Sapulpa.

The Bulldoggers return next Friday night to begin the toughest part of their schedule, they meet Perkins-Tryon on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. on the road.
