The Dewey Bulldoggers made the short 25-minute trip to Caney, Kansas to take on the Bullpups for the second matchup of the season. This time around, it would be all Caney as the grabbed the Tuesday night sweep in the twin-bill.

On the guys side, it would pretty anti-climactic for Dewey, as they trailed nearly the entire game in what was an eventual 74-56 loss. Early foul trouble and turnovers plagued the Bulldoggers in this one as they drop to 13-9.

Dewey had their moments, it was single digits for most of the third quarter, but Caney was led by junior Colt Hightower who set a school record with an astonishing 48-points.

Here is what it sounded like when Hightower got the school record.

Jace Williams finished with 15-points to lead Dewey in scoring. Right behind him was Austin Eastman with nine-points, including this three-ball in the third to try and pull Dewey back into it.

Williams was named Patriot Player of the Game for his outing. The Dewey guys fall to 13-9 to finish regular season play. The girls fell in their game as well, albeit closer than the guys game, but fell 51-43.

Both Bulldogger squads will be in Catoosa on Thursday for their first playoff District matchup.
