Flick Settling in For Lady Bruins

Bartlesville High girls’ basketball is into the offseason, as the Lady Bruins are getting used to a familiar but new coaching staff.

Head coach Jason Flick has been on the job since early May.

Flick was hired to replace former head man Justyn Shaw, who stepped away from the program following Bartlesville’s trip to the 6A State Tournament in the spring.

Flick, a longtime Bartian, Bartlesville High grad and Oklahoma Wesleyan grad talks about his connection to the community.

Flick was an assistant on the varsity boy’s staff under former head coach Clent Stewart before moving over to the girl’s side under Shaw. One of his children, Adrianne Flick, was a girl’s basketball standout, as well.

He says being a varsity head coach at BHS was one of the goals since he got into coaching locally.

Bartlesville will continue summer workouts and team camps until July when the team will break for the fall.
