We continue to wrap up high school football seasons across the area, as several good clubs fell in the first round of the playoffs a week ago.

Wesleyan Christian School lost a first-round game for the first time in three years. The Mustangs could not overcome Graham-Dustin in the opening round of Class C this past weekend in a game in Bartlesville – Final score was 40-33.

WCS scored touchdowns on five of its only eight possessions on the night. Graham-Dustin played keep away from the Mustangs, scoring on nearly every drive.

Wesleyan Christian head coach Curt Cloud talks about the ballgame.

The loss marks the end of the best era of WCS football in school history. After the Mustangs return to the OSSAA, they have made the playoffs for four years in a row under coach Cloud and their current crop of seniors.

Cloud talks about the past few years of Mustang football.

With the graduation of Cloud’s son, Tyrel, this spring, he says he’s currently undecided if he will coach the football team moving forward.
