Oklahoma State men’s basketball finally has a new coach.

After quite a prolonged search the Cowboys announced on Monday afternoon that former Western Kentucky head men’s basketball coach Steve Lutz will now lead the Pokes.

Lutz is a San Antonio native. He has gone 69-35 in three seasons as a head coach. Two years at Texas A&M Corpus Christi and one season at Western Kentucky. He went to the NCAA Tournament in all three years as a skipper.

Lutz was an assistant with stops at both Creighton from 2010-17 and Purdue from 2017-21 prior to getting his first head coaching gig three years ago.

Cowboy basketball airs on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1.
