Oklahoma Union Takes Nowata County Battle

Let’s talk the first week of high school football, as about half our area teams were in action for Zero Week on Friday evening.
Nowata and Oklahoma Union hooked up for the first game of the year for the third consecutive season, and the result was just like the past three matchups – all Oklahoma Union.
The Cougars topped Nowata 42-0.
OKU struck early and often and put the contest away early. Trenton Kuehn found the endzone for the first Oklahoma Union score of the night.
It was all Kuehn in the first half, as he would score three touchdowns in game’s first 24-minutes. Kuehn would end with four touchdowns in the contest.
Baylor Nash had a good first half, as well.
An interception on defense, and then this touchdown to round out the 2nd quarter scoring.
It would stay at 28-0 at halftime, and it would be 14 more unanswered for Oklahoma Union in the second half. Nowata’s losing streak continues.
Ironmen (0-1) will host Chelsea next week as Oklahoma Union (1-0) has Woodland at home.
