Oklahoma Wesleyan came back home Saturday afternoon for a senior day set with Avila from the Mueller Sports Center off Silverlake Rd. It would be all Wesleyan as they grabbed the sweep. Lady Eagles beat Avila 57-50, and the guys captured the KCAC regular season title with a 68-53 win.

We’ll start with the guys, as they have now gone back-to-back-to-back years clinching the regular season KCAC conference title. For OKWU, they led this game nearly wire-to-wire, but Avila was in their hip pocket the whole time. OKWU took an eight-point lead to the half at 33-25.

In the second half, OKWU would extend their lead thanks to Nick Bene who five-points off the bench, including this three to push the lead to 15.

OKWU was paced in scoring by Jaden Lietzke who scored 14-points off the bench. Oklahoma Wesleyan men held on for the 15-point win to grab the KCAC regular season title once again.

On the girls side, they trailed 29-21 at the half, but came firing back in the third to take a 44-42 lead into the final frame. Zariah Tillman led the Wesleyan women in scoring with 12, including this huge steal and bucket in the fourth quarter.

Both teams now have one week left in the regular season with two road games next week. The Eagles will travel to Sterling to do battle on Wednesday night.
