OKWU Wins KCAC Tournament Title

Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball needed to win the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament to make the NAIAs - And the Eagles got it done.

Wesleyan went undefeated over the weekend in Great Bend, Kansas en route to a KCAC Tournament title and an automatic berth into the NAIA National Tournament.

It was a 6-4 victory for the Eagles over Kansas Wesleyan yesterday afternoon that gave them the title.

Here is how the final out sounded on the KCAC Network. 

Ashton Luera came in on the mound and shut down the Coyotes to get the victory. Eagles scored four runs across the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. KWU was held scoreless from the seventh inning on, which was the difference.

OKWU had beaten Friends on Saturday, 7-5, to get to the title round on Sunday with no losses in the event.

Oklahoma Wesleyan will await the NAIA Tournament selection show on Thursday to find out where it is headed for the Regional portion of the event.
