Patriot Athlete of the Week: Riley Duong
It is another Monday, which means we have another Patriot Family of Autos Area Athlete of the Week, powered by Tri County Tech.
This week we look to a Bartlesville boys’ basketball standout in Riley Duong.
Duong has been the main leader on this year’s Bruin club. He was the only player on the roster who brought in any significant varsity minutes to the season.
Duong talks about how he views his role on this year’s club.
Duong enters the playoffs this week as Bartlesville’s leading scorer and three-point maker. He also leads the team in assists.
Midway through the season Riley a game at Union where he only attempted three shots and did not score. After a conversation with head coach Clent Stewart and the rest of the team, he has been shot out of a cannon since.
Duong talks about what he did to stay aggressive.
Duong has shot the ball nine or more times in eight of 10 games since, making 24 three-pointers in that span.
Duong is one of four brothers. He says he wants to try to play basketball in college but is going to navigate that process when the high school season is over. He has been playing basketball since elementary school and has been in Bartlesville his whole life.
Duong talks about what he likes to do for fun.
Bartlesville boys are in the 6A Regionals beginning on Thursday night on the road at Broken Arrow in a double-elimination event.
