In district championship action at Tonkawa, the Lady Huskies came away victorious, while the boys fell short and face an uphill battle if they want to get to the state tournament.

On the guy's side, it was Pawhuska falling to Tonkawa, 56-52. It was the Huskies who got out to an early lead, leading it 12-10 at the end of the first quarter. The hot shooting of the Bucs got them right back in the game, as they took a 26-22 lead into halftime and extended it to nine in the third quarter.

The Huskies didn't back down, though. Trailing by five, Pawhuska got a defensive stop and this look from Dax Godsey trimmed the lead to two with five minutes to go in the game.

That two point deficit is as close as the game got in the late going. Down the stretch, the Bucs executed from the free throw line, enabling them to get the victory. Trenton Miles led Pawhuska in scoring.

For the Lady Huskies, they got out to a 25-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 58-23 win. Things were easy for Pawhuska from the start. Pawhuska made a three-pointer on four consecutive trips offensively. Here, the three-point barrage from outside came to an end, but the Lady Huskies got the old fashioned three point play just the same.

Hannah Reynolds and Fallon Bowman were each in double figures for Pawhuska.
