Pawhuska Lady Huskies Prep for 2023-2024 Season

The Pawhuska Lady Huskies are two weeks away from tipping off the 2023-2024 basketball season. They will be looking to find the magic that took them all the way to the semifinals of the Class 2A state tournament last year.

The Lady Huskies return four starters off of last year's squad and with the season approaching, Coach David Cash says this is only the second veteran-led team he has had since he took over in 2020.

Hannah Reynolds returns as a junior. She has led the team in scoring for the last two years. Fallon Bowman is a senior who led the team in rebounds and blocked shots last year and someone who Cash said can be a matchup nightmare for opponents. Cash said Shanell Cochrane does a great job complimenting Bowman and that Gloria Baker is always capable of making a clutch shot. Cash said what he likes most about this team is their willingness to work.

The one starter that Pawhuska will be without this year is Miya Curry, who was a major contributor for all four years for the Lady Huskies. As Pawhuska prepares for their first game in two weeks, Cash says the team needs to gain better cohesion on offense and defense and get comfortable without Curry running the offense.

All Pawhuska games can be heard on Sportstalk KPGM FM 99.1 and KPGMTV.com. Their first game will be at home on Tuesday, December 2nd against Tulsa CHEF.
