Stillwater Sweeps Bruins in Hoops DH

Close but no cigar for both the Bartlesville High basketball teams on Friday night in Stillwater, as the girls and guys both had their win streaks come to an end in close games.
On the girl’s side first, Bartlesville rallied against Stillwater but couldn’t complete a comeback.
The Pioneers held on, 41-38.
BHS came back from multiple 10 and 11-point deficits but could never get over the hump.
Stillwater led wire-to-wire.
Bartlesville struggled from the field. The Lady Bruins did not make a three-pointer despite getting many good looks.
Still, it was a game in the final two minutes. Down seven, this Cadence Gray three-point play got Bartlesville within striking distance.
Sami Shaeffer was the only Lady Bruin in double-figures with 12.
Bartlesville girls drop to 8-6 and 2-5 in District play.

Bartlesville led throughout the entire first half, but Stillwater owned the final 16 minutes.
The Pioneers used a 12-8 run in the first three minutes of the third quarter to capture their first lead and never trailed again.
BHS cut a 10-point lead all the way to two on a wacky six-point possession. Sutton Huff had two and-one opportunities sandwiched around a Stillwater technical.
This was the second one that gave the Bruins life.
