College basketball statewide lasted a lot longer than we might have thought, but it came to a crushing end for both Tulsa and OU on M night.

Let’s talk about the Sooners first, Oklahoma fell in the finals of the College Basketball Crown Tournament to West Virginia, 89-82.

OU had a six-point lead in overtime dwindle away. The Mountaineers made three straight threes to take command of the game late.

OU finishes at 21-16.

Meanwhile Tulsa fell to Auburn in overtime in the finals of the NIT last night in Indianapolis yesterday, as well.

Auburn had a 4-0 run in the final nine seconds to force overtime and would win it, 92-86.

Tulsa had a 22-2 run early in the second half to erase a 21-point deficit and take command of the game in the final eight minutes before the Golden Hurrican couldn't hold on.

TU had a brutal five-second violation inbounding the ball up by three in the final seconds. The turnover led to the Tigers making a three-pointer to force OT.

Head coach Eric Konkel talks about the big Golden Hurricane turnover.

TU finishes out its season at 30-8 on the year. Several members of the team will be eligible to come back.
