Dress rehearsal time for high school football in Northeast Oklahoma, as nearly every team will be in action in some kind of scrimmage on Friday night.

At Bartlesville High, the Bruins will host Ponca City in a ConocoPhillips Bowl exhibition. The Bruins will have two scrimmages this preseason - Friday against their rival Wildcats, then on Thursday next week against Cushing.

We’ve talked a lot about the returners on the offensive side of the ball, but the Bruin defense should take a step forward this fall, as well. Brett Eaves will likely man that side of the ball. Eaves was a dynamic starter at safety last season.

Head coach Harry Wright talks about Eaves and what he brings to the Bruin defense.

Junior high guys take the field at 6:00 on Friday night, with the varsity guys at 8:00.

We will have coverage of the varsity scrimmage on KWONTV.com after 7:15 PM.
