Dewey Bulldogger baseball is headed to the state tournament for the first time in 12 years.

Dewey punched their ticket to the state tournament after beating Stigler twice in a three game series over the weekend. The Bulldoggers dropped the first game of the series before winning their next two and advancing.

Head coach Riley Allen talks about what he saw in Stigler.

Despite the early series struggles from Layne Gastel and Lathe Griggs on the mound, both Gastel and Griggs pitched in the third game on Friday in an 8-4 win. Griggs pitched the first four innings with Gastel going the final three innings.

The Bulldoggers will open the 3A state tournament against Washington on Thursday night. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. from Norman North High School.
