Dewey Bulldogger softball has clinched a district championship, automatically putting the Lady Bulldoggers in a home regional to start the postseason.

Dewey is 26-7 on the season and went a perfect 12-0 in district play. Dewey is also currently unbeaten against 3A opponents. Head coach Riley Allen talked about his team's play in district games.

Dewey has been very balanced both in the circle and at the plate, with four primary bats hitting .400 or better.

Kyla Overton and Londyn Bond have been leading the way both on the offensive and pitching side. Overton has 133 strikeouts over 145 innings pitched, and leads the team in hits at the plate with 53. Overton is batting .570 this fall.

Bond is batting .615, and leads the team in homeruns (16) and RBIs (50).

Allen said everyone has been doing their part this season.

Dewey wraps up the regular season on Sept. 29 against Fairland before regionals start on Oct. 2. The Lady Bulldoggers will officially know their regional pairings on Sept. 30.
