Huskies Look to Get Back on Track Against Vinita

The Pawhuska Huskies have dropped back-to-back regular season games for the first time that Coach Matt Hennesy has been at Pawhuska in more than five years. The Huskies don't want to make it three straight, but they play a Vinita team on Friday night that they lost to 40-16 last year. The Hornets are the largest team in Pawhuska's district and will be making a leap all the way up to Class 4A next year.

After graduating more than 20 seniors from last year, Vinita has brought in a new coach and a new signal caller, but Hennesy says the Hornets still have plenty of weapons.

Even with the 20 seniors the Hornets graduated last year, Hennesy says depth won't be an issue for the visitors Friday night.

Friday's theme will be youth night. There will be inflatables before the game starts and all youth football players will have their names introduced before kickoff at 7 p.m.

Coverage can be heard on Sportstalk KPGM FM 99.1 and KPGMTV.com beginning at 6:30.
