Wednesday morning the Osage Nation welcomed the Director of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Michael Black, to the Business Development Center in Pawhuska. Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear invited the director to the Osage Reservation following a federal court injunction to halt the new oil and gas rules.

Black's opening remarks briefly discussed current litigation against the BIA including the lawsuits from the Osage County Oil Producers association and several surface lawsuits regarding permitting procedures.

Director Black then discussed the lawsuits brought by the United States Government, through the BIA, regarding ongoing Wind Turbine Development in Osage County.

Black, following his opening remarks, began an open session with the audience and answered many questions regarding oil production in Osage County, Wind Energy, and operations complaints specifically against BIA Tulsa Superintendent Robin Phillips.
