The Bartlesville School Board voted to approve the budget for the fiscal year 2018 in Monday night’s regularly scheduled meeting.

David Boggs informed the board that the district’s general fund is down $255,000 this year due to carryover and a decrease of expected state aid. Boggs noted that carryover is up 1% from last year’s figure, but the general trend is down 10% since 2009-10.

The board was also informed that office number two and four occupied by Scott Bilger and Kevin Sitton are up for election this year. Superintendent Chuck McCauley called these elections simply, “routine business”.

Board member Allison Clark spoke during the legislative update portion of the meeting. Clark expressed her frustration at the lack of progress during the state legislative session.

Athletic Director Ryan Huff spoke during the athletics and activities update and told the board that things have been going very well at Moxie on Second. During the first two and a half months that the Bruin spirt shop has been open the school district has profited more $6,000.

All items on the consent agenda were approved without any comment from board members during this regularly scheduled meeting.
