Sheriff Terry Sue Barnett was at the top of the agenda and brought a few items to the board’s attention. Barnett mentioned that a sink at the jail needed to be re-installed. Chairman Doug Sonenberg said an order is already in place.

The sheriff also stated that several volunteers are working in her office. She mentioned specifically that Kim Owen has been a major help with administrative work and Lou Ann Brown, a former Osage County undersheriff, has brought valuable experience as well. Barnett mentioned three other volunteers will begin work soon. Chairman Sonenberg commended the efforts of all volunteers in the county.

In other new business, commissioner Troy Friddle discussed an old rock crusher in district three that is no longer usable. Several ideas were brought forward for disposal including scrapping it for parts and listing it for a surplus auction. The commissioners agreed to keep ideas open going forward.

An item regarding the discussion of the employee handbook for all elected officials was tabled until next week’s meeting.
