Man Arrested for Role in December Bar Altercation

An arrest been made in regards to an altercation at Angelo’s Tavern that sent a man to the hospital in December. Eric Alexander was arrested on a warrant Feb. 8 and appeared at the Washington County Courthouse on Wednesday after posting a $25,000 bond. Alexander is facing charges of aggravated assault and battery.
According to an affidavit, the victim was drinking at Angelo’s with a friend that night. Witnesses stated the victim went to urinate between two parked cars after the bar had closed. Alexander then appeared and witnesses say he was angry due to the fact that his vehicle had been urinated on. Statements allege that Alexander demanded to know who did it.
The witness tried to leave but Alexander would not let him. More witness allegations say the victim refused to issue an apology because he believed he did not urinate on the vehicle. Alexander then allegedly punched the man who fell straight back and hit his head full-force on the concrete curb. The victim was knocked unconscious.
The victim spent a considerable amount of time in the hospital. The victim now suffers from short-term memory loss and loss of vision.
Alexander has an extensive history of violent offenses. He is due back in court on March 1.
