Ward 5 City Councilman Trevor Dorsey serves on the newly created Transportation Committee in Bartlesville. He says there has been a lot of focus on that issue because of the size of Bartlesville and its interest in transportation. He says the City of Bartlesville is trying to find ways to make transportation more cost effective with Cimarron Public Transit.

To Dorsey, Cimarron is very forward thinking when it comes to communicating with employers about employee transportation. The committee has also stressed the importance of seniors living in Bartlesville and making transportation affordable to thme because they may not have vehicles to get around in. Getting around the community is valuable and the City wants to do everything they can to provide traveling services, Dorsey says.

Dorsey says the city is thankful for the volunteers that have come on to serve on the Transportation Committee. He says it is their goal to bring fares down for people who may have to pay $20 a week to travel to and from work every day. Dorsey mentions that they need passion like that in other committees as well. You can find a complete list of committee board openings on the City's website, www.cityofbartlesville.com.
