A Monday afternoon vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a car is still under investigation in Bartlesville. The accident was reported at 3:15 pm at the intersection of 14th Street and Johnstone.

Captain Jay Hastings says a red 2004 Honda motorcycle driven by 28-year-old Raymond J. Cutler was traveling east on 14th street approaching Johnstone. A 2011 Toyota driven by a 16-year-old female was northbound and  stopped at the stop sign for 14th street.

Hastings says a witness observed the motorcycle to be traveling at a high rate of speed riding a wheelie as it approached the Johnstone intersection. The driver of the Toyota did not see the motorcycle approaching due to its speed and began to pull into the intersection in the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was seriously injured in the accident and transported to the hospital. The driver of the car did not receive an injury. The BPD Serious Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and the intersection remained closed for a period of time following the accident. We’ll have more information on the story when it becomes available.
