City of Bartlesville's Director of Engineering Micah Seimer's says the project will involve replacing the sands and sub-drain systems in those bunkers. The project also includes reshaping the bunkers. Seimer's says the white sand will make it look like Pebble Beach. The City thanks Jerry Benedict for his fundraising contribution for the white sand. He also says the contractor doanted additional funds to make the nicer liners a possibility.

The City has contracted with United Golf LLC of Tulsa. Funding sources for the project include the 2018 General Obligation bond, the 2018 Golf Course Memorial Fund and unallocated Capital Improvement Projects half-cent sales tax funds. Funds used from the half-cent sales tax fund will be replenished using funds from the 2019 Golf Course Memorial Fund once it becomes available after the Memorial Fund Tournament in June.

The total cost of the contract approved for the work is $143,320. The project will take approximately six weeks to complete, weather permitting.
