The National Weather Service in Tulsa has announced that there is a flooding warning for the Caney River across portions of Washington County.

Washington County Emergency Manager Kary Cox said this warning is for minor flooding and includes Bartlesville, Ramona and Collinsville. Cox said the Caney River in Bartlesville is expected to rise to near flood levels Tuesday morning.

Impact from the potential flooding associated with the Caney River in Bartlesville is 13-feet. Cox said this minor flooding could impact low farmlands right next to the river.

While the 13-foot impact is nothing too serious, Cox said that could change and is likely to change as rainfall amounts fluctuate. He said Washington County Emergency Management and other groups will not know until the rain occurs.

They will keep you advised if flooding becomes a serious threat.

Cox also said rainfall amounts could impact Copan and Hulah Lakes. He said the lakes should be at the capacity to hold the rainfall they are expecting.

The lake levels could rise but slightly, unless rainfall amounts escalate beyond what is predicted. Currently, Copan Lake, is at 9.96 feet above normal. The flood control pool is 32.5-percent full. Hulah Lake is 16.9 feet above normal. Its flood control pool is 366.8% full. You can keep up with lake levels here.

The Caney River near Ramona is expected to rise above flood stage Tuesday morning and will continue to rise to 27.9 feet by Tuesday evening.

Cox asks you to use caution as some roadways that normally experience flash flooding could very well flood Monday into Tuesday morning. He asks that you be mindful of the heavy rainfall spurts that will occur throughout the day Monday.

At 28 feet, moderate agricultural flooding will occur from Ocheleta to the Northeastern tip of Tulsa County. Some rural roads will be impassable, including driving directly between Ramona and Talala.

Area river levels can be found here.
