An agreement for professional mass appraisal services between the Washington County Assessor's Office and Arkansas CAMA Technology, Inc. was discussed on Monday.

County Assessor Todd Mathes said they used Total Assessment Solutions Corporation to perform the visual inspections for the last four years but they went out for bid to see what else was out there because they were not 100-percent satisfied with TASC's services. That was when they chose Arkansas CAMA Technology out of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Assessor Mathes said they go out of state to get companies to do visual inspections is because the State of Oklahoma does not have these kinds of businesses to do the work. He did say those types of companies are coming though.

The contract states that Arkansas CAMA Technology will keep all data collected in Washington County. It also says that ACT will complete the visual inspections and get back to the County by January 31st, 2020. Employees with ACT will complete training in Oklahoma as well.

The four-year visual inspection contract was approved at the cost of $93,500. This is the lowest amount for a visual inspection contract in five-years. If Washington County is satisfied with ACT's work, they will renew the contract and will not have to go out for bid again.
