The NFL Draft is one of the few events in sports that is allowed to take place despite the pandemic. Although it will take a unique form as the draft will be done completely virtually. Should things go wrong with technology, NFL insider Adam Schefter said the league is prepared.

Day one of the draft with likely have a Sooner red tint for local fans who are interested. With only the first round taking place Thursday it is likely that anywhere between two and four Sooners could be selected. The top OU prospect is wide receiver CeeDee Lamb who could be the first pass-catcher off the board.

Linebacker Kenneth Murray is a first-round talent and defensive linemen Neville Gallimore has an outside chance of being taken on day one as well. Gallimore and quarterback Jalen Hurts will likely be selected on Friday when the second and third rounds of the draft take place.

Oklahoma State does not have any top-flight prospects this year. Defensive back A.J. Green should be a late round selection but no other Pokes are expected to be taken. Tulsa has two defensive prospects that may be selected. Linebacker Trevis Gibson has generated some buzz and defensive back Reggie Robinson II will latch with a team, whether through the draft or as an unselected free agent.

The NFL Draft is slated to begin at 7 p.m. The Cincinnati Bengals own the first pick.
