Fire prevention week runs October 5-10, 2020, but it will look a little different this year for Bartlesville school children.

 

Appearing on COMMUNITY CONNECTION, Bartlesville Fire Chief John Banks says the traditional in-person presentations for the youngsters at the fire station will not take place due to COVID-9 concerns​. 

 

Instead, Chief Banks says fire safety measures will be taught elsewhere, perhaps at schools, by parents homeschooling or by church groups. Banks suggests you go to  www.sparky.org/games there are all kind of interactive games on that site that teach fire safety.

 

Banks says he's going to miss the annual tradition this year and that the firefighters are going to miss interacting with the kids, too.
