Bartlesville Community Center guests will have an augmented sound experience in the near future thanks to a $5,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

Arvest sales manager Whitney Watson and loan manager David Nickel presented the check to Val Callaghan, managing director of the Bartlesville Community Center.

“We are happy to present this contribution to the Bartlesville Community Center,” said Watson. “It is a true gem in our community and we are thrilled to support both the indoor performing arts auditorium and the outdoor venue Tower Center at Unity Square.”

The funds will be used to purchase and install new indoor speakers for the performing arts hall as well as purchase and install supplemental sound and technical equipment for the outdoor stage on Tower Center at Unity Square.

Callaghan stated, “These improvements will benefit seven local presenting arts groups who rent the facilities as well as citizens of Bartlesville who frequent the Center and Unity Square for their fundraisers and events.”

The Bartlesville Community Center opened in 1982 designed by William Wesley Peters, an apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright, to complement the Price Tower. With a mission to provide cultural and educational facilities and activities to strengthen the culture and economy of the city, the community center has done just that. With performances by orchestras from New York and shows from dancers, actors and musical guests from all over and the home to Broadway in Bartlesville, the Community Center has been bringing the arts to Bartlesville for over 38 years.

The Arvest Foundation seeks to provide funding to grantees who are actively working to create positive change for others. Major areas of focus include: K-12 education, economic development, and enhancing the quality of life throughout the Arvest footprint.
