  The Nowata County Commissioners signed an endorsement for the Northeast Oklahoma Workforce Board at their Monday morning meeting. The Board consists of seven counties in the northeast corner of state and helps job seekers and employers in rural areas.

Chairman Burke LaRue serves on the board and alerted the other commissioners that the state could be re-aligning its workforce boards in this part of the state. LaRue says the Eastern district has been de-certified and there is a proposal to absorb it into the northeast district.

The Eastern district includes Wagoner and Muskogee Counties. LaRue says it is possible the state makes a decision on its own anyway but this endorsement could help to create a more beneficial re-alignment plan.
