For 17 years the Friends in Deed, Inc. organization has served a dinner on Christmas Day for all citizens in our communities, but due to COVID-19, the event has been cancelled this year.

Over 900 meals were served by about 100 volunteers in 2019. According to George Halkiades, the risk of spreading COVID-19 to potential attending citizens and volunteers is too great. In a statement, Halkiades said: "We look forward to continuing the event next year, even bigger and better."
