The Washington County Election Board was praised by Mike Dunlap, the Chairman of the Washington County Board of Commissioners, on Monday morning.

Commissioner Dunlap said he wanted to recognize Election Board Secretary Yvonne House, her staff and the countless volunteers for doing an excellent job on Election Night last Tuesday. He said they ran a clean operation under a trying situation. The election results were taken seriously, and Commissioner Dunlap wanted the citizens of Washington County to be extremely confident of that fact.

Commissioner Dunlap said House takes her job seriously, which is something he appreciates and respects. He said he is also incredibly appreciative of the volunteers that spent a minimum of 12 hours at their respected polling place last Tuesday.

According to Commissioner Dunlap, they found six people who were trying to vote absentee and in-person during the General Election. He said three of them were believed to be legitimate mistakes, but the District Attorney's Office is going after the other three.
