Washington County Deputy Returns to Work After Crash

A Washington County Sheriff's Deputy that was involved in a vehicle collision last Tuesday within the Dewey City limits is back on the job.
According to Sheriff Scott Owen on Monday, Deputy David Virden is back to work taking care of Washington County's citizens. He said Deputy Virden was transported to the Ascension St. John Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville where he was treated for minor injuries.
Sheriff Owen said Deputy Virden received a rash from the air bag when it deployed during the collision. He said the deputy was also exihibiting some soreness.
Deputy Virden returned to work on Saturday, Dec. 26th, four days after the crash. Sheriff Owen said the deputy was not at fault in the accident. He said he was thankful that the deputy and the occupants of the other vehicle walked away without serious injuries.
The accident took place on Highway 75 north of Minnesota Street in Dewey. Deputy Virden was traveling northbound when a southbound pick-up went left of center for unknown reasons.
Sheriff Owen said the truck then glanced off the deputy's driver's side door, causing the deputy's vehicle to spin out. He said the driver and the passenger of the pick-up truck were not transported to the hospital.
