Commissioner Bouvier Elected Chairman

District Two Washington County Commissioner Mike Bouvier was sworn into office and was elected to serve as Chairman for the Board of County Commissioners on Monday morning.

Commissioner Bouvier said there is a lot of work to be done in 2021.

A couple projects on Commissioner Bouvier's radar include the possibility of adding a new Washington County Fairground Event Center and the Bison Road Project north of Tuxedo Boulevard in Bartlesville up to Durham Road. He said they'll hopefully get the Bison Road project complete this year.

There are two specific locations where the Washington County Fairground Event Center could go. Commissioner Bouvier said they do not have anything set in stone quite yet. He said he'll probably know more details after Thursday, Jan. 7th. He said they want to be able to help all of the students in Washington County's FFA programs.

Commissioner Bouvier said he'll continue to work on cemeteries within Washington County that do not have cemetery associations. He said that this is the responsibility of the County. He also said that caring for the County's cemeteries is a task he likes to do, calling the work a "labor of love."

In District Two of Washington County, Commissioner Bouvier said they'll continue to take care of their constituents. Commissioner Bouvier said they'll continue to work on road situations and repairs as they arise. He said he has a strong, dependable crew that has worked with him over the past eight years in office.

Commissioner Bouvier said it is an honor to be a citizens of Washington County.
