The Nowata County Commissioners heard an update on a possible COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Monday morning’s meeting. Nowata County Emergency Management director Laurie Summers says currently the situation is unclear.

Summers says she is hoping that the county could have answers by the end of the week. However, the lack of a county health department has made the process difficult according to Summers.

Once the clinic is opened contract nurses will be provided by the state to work at the clinic. Summers she has been encouraged by the slowing of new COVID-19 cases in both the county and the state.
