BHS Swimming Heads to Regionals

We have two days until Bartlesville High swimming in back in action… for only the fourth time this year, as 6A Regionals will take place on Saturday at the Jenks Aquatic Center.

Both the Bartlesville swim teams have only had three meets in the regular season this year – mostly because of COVID-19.

Many meets were canceled, creating a season mostly of practicing instead of competing.

Head coach Chad Englehart says it’s been a weird year.

The last meet for BHS was more than two weeks ago in the Frontier Valley Conference Meet, which was only four teams this year. Because of the lack of competition, knowing where you stand against other 6A clubs is harder this year than in most.

The Bruin guys have a staunch senior class, consisting of  Kyle Peterson, Preston Willis, Colin Goddard, John Steward and Jack Rolfson. Both sides have a talent young group.

Englehart talks about what to expect this weekend.

The guys will be looking to finish in the top two or three, with the Lady Bruins looking at a top three or four finish.

More on BHS swimming at the 6A Regionals later on this week.
