Germanfest 2021 Underway in Tulsa
The German-American Society of Tulsa is pleased to announce Germanfest 2021. Germanfest this year will be a virtual event with online store and curbside pickup. The online store is open and pre-ordering is encouraged. Curbside pickup for all orders will be April 29th, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and April 30th to May 2nd, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the GAST Event Center. The center is located in the heart of midtown Tulsa, just one block west of Lewis, at 15th Street & Terrace Drive.
There will be authentic German food such as Schnitzel, Bratwurst, and Applestrudel. But also two new items; the Kassler Dinner and Black Forest Cake and Trifle. There will also be a quilt raffle this year for a Queen sized quilt; the pattern is Daring Spirit. It is a patriotic themed quilt in red, white and blue, with beautiful bald eagles. Imported German merchandise and foodstuffs are also being offered in the online store. Steins, Hummels, Chocolate Bars, Seasonings and Spices and so much more.
Additionally on demand custom orderable items with unique Germanfest themed artwork this year. Lastly the Society would like to introduce “Bänderbaum” or Tree of Ribbons. This new Germanfest tradition is dedicated to honoring mothers for Mothers Day; something that happens May 1st in Germany. Mother can be nominated and several drawings will take place for prizes.
