The Nowata County Commissioners opened multiple bids at Monday morning’s meeting.

Five companies submitted bids for hot mix, hot lay and delivery. Four companies submitted bid packets for loading and hauling of miscellaneous road materials. The board accepted the bids and will award them at next Monday’s meeting.

The commissioners also signed a proclamation to declare this week, Monday, May 3 through Friday, May 7 as Oklahoma Home Community Education Week. Representatives from OCHE presented cookies to each one of the commissioners to bring back to their barns.

The board also accepted a reimbursement claim for just over $47,000 from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for a project in District No. 1. The project was for work on Road 424 just North of U.S. Highway 60.
