City Talk with New Bartlesville City Councilor Billie Roane

On Monday night, she was sworn in as the new city councilor for Bartlesville's Ward 4 and on Tuesday morning, Billie Roane represented the city on COMMUNITY CONNECTION's City Talk program on KWON AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
 
Roane was given the oath of office by city attorney Jess Kane at the start of Monday evening's meeting. Roane takes the Ward 4 seat that was vacated by Alan Gentges who is now the municipal judge following the unexpected death of Judge James Steven Conatser.
 
Billie Roane announced that the city of Bartlesville last night allowed Resolution 3619 to expire meaning that there is no longer a mask mandate in city facilities.
 
Roane reminded viewers and listeners that there are still many opportunities to apply for city commissons and boards which can be found at www.cityofbartlesville.org.
 
Also, Roane said the city's budget workshop is set for Monday, May 17, to cover the 2021-2022 budget; police hiring needs; capital improvements-obligation bonds; and the five-year water rate plan.
 
Roane announced that Lt Gov. Matt Pinell will be in Bartlesville Friday to visit the new Visit Bartlesville offices 2-4 pm at the Bartlesville Community Center.
 
SHe also invited everyone to attend the Peace Officer Memorial on Wednesday, May 12, at noon near the police complex downtown to honor fallen law enforcement officers.
